So, does it exist???

Ok, read into this what you want. Most who know me think I'm a tad nuts anyway with everything I take with me on a trip, and how I organize it. I even organize my cooler. That being said I am in the middle of going through everything in the Chaser and getting it ready for a summer of fun. While doing this I have come across one of the things that just bugs me. My box of aluminum foil. No matter how careful I am I just can't seem to keep the box in shape. It is always getting squished in the jumble of stuff I have, and eventually it will get so bad that I will end up throwing it away. I am probably the only one on the planet that can not seem to tare off a piece of foil without the cutter thingy on the box.

So here is my question. Does anyone know of something I can buy to keep my foil intact? Maybe a "Rubber Maid" thing designed for foil. If not, does anyone have anything they have made to help with this? I know I am not the only person that has this problem (however I may be the only one to actually speak up about it).

Any help would be great. And yes, I know I am nuts, but aren't we all in some way.

What about a piece of PVC pipe with a slot cut down the side and some caps pushed on the ends? Could screw the box's 'blade' to the outside of it if really needed though I'd be tempted to chamfer the lower edge of the slot and then create teeth of sorts in that edge with a small 60* countersink.

Now you're on to something! PVC cut to length (width of a roll of aluminum foil) then cut end-to-end to create a slit for feeding the foil; the resulting edge on the end-to-end cut should serve as sharp enough for tear-off. Put some pvc caps on either end to enclose the container, one secured with plumbing cement the other left to pull on/off (maybe tethered like a gas cap so it doesn't get lost when off). The feeding slit might need to be modified, since it would be forced closed with the end caps are on. Hmmm.

Woohoo, thanks guys. I knew someone would have an idea. Both of those are great. I may just try my hand at making one. I never thought of using a piece of PVC. I will post up if I can make it work.
