For sale is an extremely rare 1986 Toyota Pickup Custom Cab with the highly sought after 22rte (turbocharged motor) and R-151f (best transmission offered). After months of consideration I have decided it’s time to let go of my truck. It has been my passion project and daily driver for about two years. The quick version is that it has a freshly rebuilt motor, clean title, smog legal, and tons of upgrades/extra goodies. I’d like to get $9,800 for it. If you’re interested, below is a comprehensive list of what’s been done.
Engine
* 22rte (200k on the clock) fully disassembled and bored 0.20 over to eliminate any imperfections in the cylinder wall
* Forged pistons and piston rings to match 0.20 bore and increase piston strength
* CT-26 turbo swap from MKIII Supra (increased reliability and power, runs about 10lbs of boost)
* ARP head studs and rod bolts for added strength under boost
* Marlin crawler HD Turbo clutch with high grade hardware and clutch slave cylinder
* Full 3” exhaust with high flow catalytic converter and Flow-Master DBX muffler (sounds fantastic and doesn’t drone)
* Full Toyota OEM gasket kit for reassembly (including head gasket)
* Aisin water and oil pumps
* Toyota timing chain and upgraded metal reinforced timing chain guides
* New harmonic balancer
* Fuel injectors cleaned balanced and flow tested by a professional
* New fuel pressure regulator, fuel dampener, and fuel filter
* Oil catch kit
Extra goodies
* New Hankook Dynapro ATM tires
* TRD Trail Team Fj alloy wheels (hard to find) with 5th spare
* Boost pressure and air fuel ratio A-pillar gauge pods
* Auxiliary gas tank for over 30 gallon combined capacity
* Smittybilt XRC 8 winch
* Bedliner
Included in sale
* Factory turbo
* New CV boots (current ones are torn)
* Tons of miscellaneous spare parts
There is some rust trying to come through above the rear fenders (most have totally rotted beds). The tailgate has it worse but would be an easy replacement. The rest of the truck (frame included) is solid as a rock. The front bench seat is worse for wear but the rest of the interior is in very good shape for its age. No cracks in the dash. The paint isn’t great but it was never a concern of mine. The timing chain cover does have an oil leak but anyone who has worked on theses motors knows they can be a challenge to seal.
Please feel free to ask me any questions or come out for a test drive. Be warned, once you drive it you’ll want to take it home. For a 34 year old truck, it’s an absolute joy to drive. With about 6k miles on the rebuild, it is ready for another 200k of service. Thanks for reading.
