1990 Toyota 1-ton dually. Rebuilt (by the previous owner, who goes by warner on greatlakes4x4.com) 3vz-e 6-cylinder engine with ~20K miles (rebuild details include new Felpro gaskets, Speedpro .060 pistons, crank turned .010, new rod bearings & main bearings). This was a former U-haul truck. A buddy and his "Toyota geek" friend checked out the truck, and gave it a BIG thumbs-up on condition (body, frame, and motor), and mentioned that it's highly unlikely, given the frame/cab condition, that it's a Michigan vehicle.
I planned on using it for Jeep parts/bicycle hauling, but now have another vehicle to use for this, and don't want to license/insure yet another vehicle. The truck runs & drives, but I have personally just driven it a short distance down my street.
Toyota 8" full-float dually (DRW) rear axle. I was told by a couple different sources, including the previous owner/mechanic, that it has 4.10 gears. An almost new 2" Reese receiver hitch is already installed.
Needs brake/tail lights, decking on the flatbed, and a muffler; right now, it has a straight pipe. My buddies who inspected the vehicle did mention some front-end noise when they drove it (suspected ball joint?).
With a little TLC, this would be an ideal (cheap) truck to make into a sled/snowmobile hauler, vehicle parts runner, custom rat rod, or as a basis for a compact RV/camper/tiny house hauler.
