SOLD: 1995 Jeep XJ 2-Door 5-Speed (SoCal)

For Sale: Rare two door XJ Cherokee 4x4 2.5L with 5 speed manual transmission.

I've owned this car for about a year. I acquired it from a close friend when he moved away. There's a lot of work in this car detailed in a journal from the last 6 years including engine, differential and transfer case rebuilds. It has a 3 inch suspension lift (Rancho, Skyjacker, and Rusty's components) supporting 30" BFG KO2 tires in excellent condition. Rear axle is the desirable Chrysler 8.25 with 4.11 gears. Up top sits a Thule Canyon XT basket with a 32" curved spot/flood combo LED light bar. Inside, I've installed a new Pioneer head unit with bluetooth and wiring for rear speakers that are not yet installed. Headliner is in good condition with no sagging. Fenders are uncut with factory flares; the body is in remarkable condition. A/C was just repaired this summer with new components and blows icy cold. I installed a new clutch and hydraulics in March and a new power steering pump in June. Brakes are firm and reliable. This car is ready for years of use, just turn the key and go. I always arrived at my destination smiling, it's simply a blast to drive.

I'm selling because I finally got my dream car (FZJ80) and my wife will kill me if I don't get rid of one of them. Buy a Jeep, save a life. $4500 OBO.

Let me just try this again, for the benefit of Expedition Portal and to help answer any questions that may arise. The copy above was simply pasted from my Craigslist ad, and I know you folks deserve far better.

History:
Purchased from friend in September '17. He owned and daily drove it for the proceeding 4 years. He purchased it from a stranger (craigslist ad), who had begun a restoration and started the journal. Obviously the Skyjacker springs aren't listed below, so there's more to this Jeep than listed, but this is what I have evidence for. I suspect some body work in the past, based on paint, but without records all I know is that it's all metal and all straight. There is a dent on the passenger side rocker below the door that's hard to see from standing up, it does not effect the door closure and would be an easy fix (especially if you are installing sliders at the same time). The paint is a little rough, but it's a good looking car for its age.

I daily drove it from January through about two weeks ago: 45mi/day round trip mixed freeway/urban/curvy mountain roads. Even when the clutch went on me in March, I still got to work on time. This car won't leave you stranded. Being an AMC 2.5L with 4.11 gears means that you aren't going fast on the freeway, but it's quick off the line and doesn't feel slow until you hit 5th gear. It's extremely fun to drive. My buddy with a classic Porsche said, "it drives like a race car... From the 1930s." I've posted only one trip report, which you can read here, and if you don't mind the self-depreciating humor it can give a good estimate of what it's like to live out of for a week. I kept it clean and well maintained, now you can enjoy the fruits of my effort.
