Hey there overland community, I'm selling my trusty 4runner and would love for it to go to loving home where it can continue living a life of adventure. Below is the craigslist post which has detailed information. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions about the truck, I know this community has more questions and knowledge than the average craigslist buyer.
This 4runner has been loved and cared for and is in great shape. As most people know who are looking into older Toyotas, with the correct amount of maintenance, they will run forever. Still pulls great on the freeway and can get through anything expect the most technical Jeep trails. The 4Hi four-wheel drive is great for cruising on snowy roads, while the 4Lo will get you a massive amount of torque if you’re crawling through some steep rocks. If you are looking for a sick adventure rig, and are willing to put a little love into it over time, this is it
I am 100% confident in the care I have given this truck, so I have tried to be exhaustively transparent in the following description.
Overview
$7000
268k miles
I bought the truck from San Francisco Toyota ten years ago. I am the second owner, the first owner serviced the truck exclusively through San Francisco Toyota until I bought it in 2010 at 114,000 miles. I’ve put a lot of work into it over the years and it is still running strong at 268K miles. The roof rack, custom gas/firewood rack and locking gas cans all come with the truck, but the sky box does not. I welded the gas can rack in 2018, strong enough to get up top and stand on if you need some height, the perimeter of metal loops are great for strapping down firewood or even lumber if you take off the gas cans, they are also strong enough to string a hammock off of. I have the hitch and will sell it with the truck, but I took it off for more ground clearance in the back.
For the last 6 years or so, I’ve had a wooden platform in the back with the back seats folded down, so the back seats are in perfect condition. I have the platform if you’re interested, its easy to install, strong, and stable. You can keep the back half in, keep the seats up and have a secure place to keep your belongings out of sight along with the additional benefit of another surface to work off of or load more bags onto. It also has a drop-down mini-tailgate that I used to cook off of.
Paint overall is in great shape besides for the hood, where the clear coat is peeling. There are two small dents on the left corner of the rear bumper, one from lightly backing into a boulder and the other was there when I purchased the vehicle. There is another dent on the right side almost out of sight, just up from the frame, I must have hit a branch or a rock there but do not know when. This dent is only visible when squatting low and doesn’t remotely affect the door. I had the ignition coil replaced in March because I was the only one who could turn the key, so there is an ignition key and the original key for car entry. The lock cylinder on the driver's side door is pretty worn out and a little finicky, it works just fine on the trunk and passenger door but you might want to get the locks replaced so they all match the new key.
The Good

- Running great from the new cylinder head, head gasket and spark plug service in March 2020
- Body and paint or in good shape
