2000 GMC Safari AWD converted to 4x4 with high and low gear.
The Good:
31" 265/75/15 Cooper AT3 tires, 5th matching wheel without tire.
Seats 8, 3rd row stays in basement. Rear heat and rear AC.
New 4.3 V6 from Chevy 32k ago, bench build on transmission 27k ago.
Superwinch Tiger Shark 9500 on winch mount from Journeys Off Road, I have the bumper skin to turn it into a hidden winch.
Tepui Ayer roof top tent mounted to Thule bars for easy on and off. Maybe used 5 nights.
I've rebuilt the entire front end in the last 10k, old ball joints were hammered out they are all bolt in now.
Front Differential failed from a bad seal that drained the fluid. New front junkyard differential put in March, all new seals and bearing placed in differential at that time.
Transfer case is from Chevy Blazer NP233. It is converted to a manual shift transfer case (now an NP231) with the Journeys off road kit.
Front Brake upgrade: Calipers and pads are off of 2000 Chevy 2500 single wheel truck. They share the same rotor so you get more stopping power which makes it brake pretty decent for what it is.
3.42 gear set gets 14 mpg with me driving. My friend who owned it before me got between 12-13 MPG. I drive slow.
All metal and rubber rear brake lines replaced over winter. New rubber hoses up front with one brand new caliper because I broke the bleeder valve trying to bleed the brakes. All 4 hoses open now.
Had a random distributer failure with only 30k on it, so that was replaced and I replaced the fuel spider at that time as well to an aftermarket one over the GM one at my mechanics recommendation. Since then any delay with hot starts of the motor are gone.

The bad:
Some rust on body, frame is free of cancer.
Rear door latch broke this week, looking for new mechanism now.
Passengers side door damage, needs new hinge pin.
Front door interior door panels have damage.
Drivers side door window garnish lets water into door but a drain hole drilled in the bottom of the door solves that problem.
Drivers side door lock only works with key, not FOB.
Emergency brake is not connected.
ABS light goes off and on, wheel speed sensor can't figure out the larger tires.
Roof top tent cover zipper a factory error, zipper is in the inside not outside. Annoying in the corners but it works.
Some rubbing at full lock when turning, more trimming would fix it.
Mild intermittent pop from front sway bar end links.
Rubber filler neck for gas tank will leak if tank is completely full and drivers side is higher than passenger side as its seal with the gas tank is not great. I just don't park passenger side low anymore with a full tank and I am fine. It only happened when I would fill up a mile from my house then park that way. It is just at the neck tank junction.

I've used it as a second car/camping/fishing vehicle. I have attempted to keep up on all the mechanical of this car as I mainly used it to fish and to drive my kids around, they love how roomy it is. As the pictures and trimming shows the looks of the car were not my first concern. I would trust it to drive anywhere, just expect your typical 20 year old car stuff such as a door mechanism breaking this week. All parts and labor have either been completed by myself (3 years in a shop doing mostly suspensions and alignments), the mechanic who owned it before me (such as the motor swap), the shop that I use for things I am not comfortable doing or do not want to do, and a transmission shop for the transmission since my friend was not a transmission mechanic.

It is not the worlds nicest truck, but is one of the cheapest 4x4 vans out there if that is what you want/need. It doesn't flex like a jeep. Think of it like a big Subaru Forester with 4lo and you'll be fine. The winch is to pull you through more technical sections if your path to camp takes you that way.

$5500 for everything. I will remove the winch and roof top tent for $500 each. I am not interested in selling them separately. They go with the van or on my next truck.

Vehicle is sold as it. No warranty.

I do not need help selling. Pick up local, I will not ship. Cash or other transaction completed at bank, no PayPal, Venmo, etc.
