For sale is a pretty clean 2003 Z71 Suburban with 136,000 miles. I am the second owner and selected this vehicle to build as an overland/ family camping rig because it was a Z71, clean, straight, and the first owner had service records back to day 1, including a receipt for a new transmission (replaced at 118,000 miles) installed by a performance transmission shop. This suburban has been meticulously maintained, always serviced with synthetic oil on time. If there is a problem, I fix it, and I also have done a lot of preventive maintenance like regular sea foam in the gas and air intake. Everything works as it should; motor runs strong and transmission shifts strong; steering is tight. I have a folder of maintenance receipts going back to day 1.
G80 auto locker rear differential, 3.73 rear axle ratio, skid plates, fog lamps and 31-gallon gas tank.
Recent non-routine services include:
2.5” leveling kit, alignment, etc. professionally installed at 130,000 miles
Shocks: Bilstein 5100’s on all 4 corners, installed at 133,000 miles. Deleted the self-leveling rear air suspension in favor of the Bilsteins – it rides better than new.
Brakes: New performance rotors, pads and calipers (as well as brake fluid flush) completed at 132,000 miles.
Tires/ wheels: Steel wheels and 10 ply Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires (slightly better than BFG AT offroad, and not bad road noise) Tires have 6,000 miles on them. These tires have a 50,000 mile warranty and will last longer if you rotate on schedule.
Lights: LED high and low beams
Fluid changes: Transfer case oil change, rear differential oil change
Undercarriage: Twice every winter I thoroughly clean the undercarriage then spray waste oil/ kerosene on the undercarriage of the suburban to mitigate any road salt/ rust damage. The frame still has about 90-95% of the OEM rubberized coating on it. It’s pretty clean; if anything concerned me, I would have replaced it.
Known Issues: Rust starting to develop on front bumper, most visible on passenger side
Thanks for looking,
Colin
