Having owned this vehicle for over 11 years it’s hard to see it go. And these are starting to become classics! I’ll do my best to outline the good and bad for the buyer. The D2 was always used as my 3rd vehicle and off-road/camping rig since purchase. It was never a daily driver hence the low miles overall.
The GOOD:
Prior to purchase the motor was replaced under warranty by a LR dealership in Colorado around 2007/8 (have original receipts). This vehicle HAS the better Coscast block that Rover used for replacements. In 2018, I had the motor professionally rebuilt by I.E Rovers with top hat liners and high-performance Crower cam. Currently the new motor only has 5,000 miles.
New battery
New power steering pump
New power steering lines
New front brake pads
New brake master cylinder
Newly rebuilt front drive shaft
Detroit Truetrac with GBR rear drive shaft
Terrafirma 3” lift
Fox 2.0 shocks
CDL
Stainless extended brake lines
255/85/16 BFG KM2 with full size spare with 75% life left
RTE front and rear bumpers
RTE rock sliders
Recent replaced radiator
New expansion tank
Super winch 10k with synthetic line
Terrafirma driving lights
Terrafirma diff guards
Genuine safety devices rack with custom hi-lift jack mount and HDPE flooring on roof
Inline thermostat modification + HD fan clutch
Includes car cover
Sony head unit
Have several receipts since ownership and previous owner
Have additional spare parts all included with purchase. extra radiator, thermostats, hoses, car cover, OEM viscous fan w/clutch and more.
The BAD:
The paint has spots that have faded. Largely the hood and roof top. The hood was covered a few years ago with a black vinyl wrap but is likely in need of replacement.
The headliner is sagging
The dash cover has lifted near the windshield
The windshield is cracked on lower part closest to the hood. Does not obstruct view
RTE front bumper could use some paint touch up
Transfer case leaking (I just keep it topped off)
Drivers door has scratch from wheeling + other various dings expected for a vehicle of this age
