This vehicle has been sold.
I’m selling my 2005 Jeep Wrangler TJ Rubicon. I’ve been an ultralight backpacker for most of my life and decided to build a Micro-Overlander on the premise that if I can carry 2 weeks of provisions in my backpack into the back country, I ought to be able to live almost indefinitely in comfort solo out of a small incredibly capable vehicle. I have wheeled and camped all over the western US and Mexico with this vehicle. The interior has many configurations. Both front seats and rear bench, or remove rear bench and install 2 modules of custom 80/20 Aluminum platform that creates a two layer storage system allowing 2 adults to tent camp out of it, or remove the rear seat and front passenger seat for a full length fully enclosed area that a 6’+ adult can sleep in with the windows opened or all of them closed. I carry 2-2.5 gallon water tanks and a water filter, a Yeti cooler under a quick access hatch and 4 Front Runner storage boxes under the platform. I also carry a full tool kit for the vehicle, recovery gear, jack, first aid kit, fishing tackle and stove. A super light custom aluminum tailgate table handles your food prep needs.
This vehicle is extremely capable of getting you DEEP INTO THE BACK COUNTRY. it rock crawls like a horny mountain goat, gobbles up desert washboard and whoops and does 80mph down the highway. Long travel Fox coilovers/air bump stops handle any terrain you can throw at it. It is softly spring for comfort and flex, roll control is managed by Currie Anti-rock sway bars that provide on road stability with off road flex. Want to put more weight in the vehicle, no problem, you can adjust ride height at each corner by dropping or raising the top coil adjustment ring in less than 10 minutes.

Registered in MT, summering in Southern California.
2 known items. Needs A new radio (intermittent digital gremlin) however stock speakers are great. No room for stock evap canister. Replaced with a smaller unit. This throws a CEL. I have a diagnostic tool and can show you the evap canister code. Plug in a stock evap canister, CEL goes away. It has been this way since 2005 when I pulled it. That’s it. Fresh fluids all around every 5k.
