Selling my 2008 Land Rover LR3 SE with V8 in Stornoway Gray.
PRICE: Looking only for a 1994 - 1998 Discovery 1 in great condition. Its important to me that it has no rust, is up to date with maintenance, and has reasonable mileage (or a rebuilt engine). Trade +/- cash.
Note: if I can’t find a Discovery 1, this truck will be for sale for cash in a couple weeks.
LR3 Mileage: 126,000
This has been an absolutely awesome truck for my camping trips, but my heart craves vintage 90s 4x4s so I am currently in search of a Discovery 1.
I have most service receipts for this truck since it was first sold. The previous owner did most of his own work since he owned several shops, while I have done a mix of my own work and service at a local Rover shop. The truck spent most of its life in AZ, a few years in CO, and has been in CA for the past year and half or so.
There is NO rust anywhere on this vehicle.
This LR3 comes kitted out with Voyager gear:
Since I have owned it, the following has been completed:
The previous owner did the following at ~113,000 miles
This truck has been used on the trail so there is some light pinstriping along the doors from brush and a small shallow dent from someone opening their door on me in a parking lot. The roof glass toward the rear has a hairline crack in it from the original owner but causes no leaks (you can only see it from inside the vehicle). It does not need replacement.
All electronics work great and have no issues. I guess the ac motor is a little loud, but works great and blows super cold.
Minor things to note:
No, I am not interested in parting out the armor.
I’m located in Orange County, CA.

This LR3 comes kitted out with Voyager gear:
- Voyager roof rack
- Voyager rock sliders
- Voyager ladder
Since I have owned it, the following has been completed:
- LLAMS kit installed
- GAP Tool BT
- Sway bar bushings
- Greasable sway bar links (driver & passenger)
- OEM thermostat and housing + coolant flush
- OEM coolant overflow bottle
- Wheel bearing (front right)
- Denso alternator (less than 2000 miles)
- Interstate AGM battery (H8) (less than 500 miles)
- 4 Goodyear Duratracs LT 275/65/R18 (less than 10K miles)
- Raybestos Specialty Truck rotors (front and rear - about 2000 miles on them)
- Akebono brake pads (front and rear - about 2000 miles on them)
- New brake wear sensors
- Transmission fluid flush at 125,000 miles (previous one done at 65,000). This was one expensive service item!
- Transmission metal pan upgrade (makes it so much easier to change the filter and do a flush by yourself)
- New drive belts
- Oil and filter change recently
- 2 new tensioner pulleys and idler pulley (not installed, but included with sale. These are with NTK bearings so they are top notch. Not needed right now - I bought them as part of my parts bin should they begin causing problems)
The previous owner did the following at ~113,000 miles
- New upper and lower control arm bushings
- Transfer case fluid flush
- Differential (front and rear) fluid flush
- Spark plugs

Minor things to note:
- Some of the interior has light scratches but nothing out of the ordinary. The seats are all in great condition and so is the headliner. The dash has almost no cracks aside from a small outline of the passenger side airbag (it looks like the stock design, but it’s not). The A pillar fabric is getting loose but can be easily fixed with a little spray adhesive. The sunroof rattles a little on bumps.
- Some of the outside plastic panels could use new plastic clips. You can get them off Amazon for practically nothing. I may have some in my parts bin.
- The fuel level sensor has gone bad so the gas gauge does not work. I just clock the mileage using the Trip meter, but you may want to replace the sensor.
- The inside wheel wells are a little scraped up from the previous owner, but that's typical with large tires.
No, I am not interested in parting out the armor.
