Suzuki 2012 DL650, V-Strom, in Rio, Brazil or Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I bought this bike new and made it adventure-ready. We have ridden 28,000kms around South America and had planned to go around the world on this bike. However it looks like a new addition to the family is on the way and unfortunately we now need to travel with a few more wheels! As I had been planning to ride this bike for many more miles to come I have kept it in excellent condition and believe that she has only just started her journey. Oil and filter changes every 5000kms, daily inspections and a full 20,000km service; all services and changes have been recorded in the log book.
This is also a very versatile bike and can easily and comfortably go off-road, we have ridden the Caretera Austral and Ruta 40 with ZERO issues. I upgraded the front and rear springs before beginning and have been running Heidenau K60’s on ripio and gravel with ease. It is not a hard-core off-road machine but a bike that can do both on and off-road with no issues. We have also been camping and carry the required equipment for this; 76l of pannier space, oversized rear luggage rack and 2 tool tube additional spaces have been fitted.

This bike is absolutely ready to go and in very good condition. I bought the DL based on its reliability and have not had a single problem with it. NOT ONE THING! Perfect for 2-up or single touring immediately and with confidence. If you want to go to Ushuaia and back up the Andes then this is the bike for you.
The DL or V-strom is, in my opinion, the perfect touring machine especially for 2-up riding. Its comfort for both driver and passenger is outstanding. The bike has ample power for long distances and easy over-taking but still has great fuel economy, I have been getting between 21 and 25 km/l with a full load and passenger.
As I said earlier, this is a regrettable sale. I love this bike and had planned to ride it another 100,000kms, it will go the distance, I am sure. I am currently in Rio but can move the bike to Buenos Aires if needed (but I think the Brazilians are great and believe you should start a trip here!)
If you have any questions concerning the bike or would like more pictures then please email or message me (marksgoneAThotmail.com)
HAPPY TRAILS!
