This car has been a joy to own and drive, but I recently got another car, so I have to let her go to a new home where she’ll be driven more. This 2012 Nissan Xterra Pro-4X has the rare 6-speed standard transmission that makes it a lot more fun to drive both on- and off-road. I am the third owner, and the previous two also took meticulous care of her with frequent oil changes and preventative maintenance. The car is on its original clutch, as it’s been babied and driven well.

Features:
-part-time selectable 4wd with automatic locking hubs
-high- and low- range transfer case
-electronically locking rear differential with the burly M226 axle (far stronger than the C200 on automatic Xterras)
-selectable traction control
-factory towing package (hitch and wiring)
-rear seats fold flat for storage or easy car camping
-integrated roof rack has built in storage
-WeatherTech mats in front and rear seatwells
-Factory skid plates
-4.0L VQ40DE v6 with tons of torque for towing or driving at elevation
-Refinished headlight lenses
-Driver and passenger airbags
-Side-collision curtain airbags
-Rockford Fosgate stereo system with bluetooth phone connectivity and AUX input

Aftermarket: this car has been tastefully and mildly upgraded to drive better than stock, both on- and off-road.
-285 75R16 (33”) Wrangler Duratrac tires with good life left; great (and quiet) road manners, strong off-road performance, and confidence-inspiring in snow. (Mud-flaps have been removed to allow for greater clearance).
-New Bilstein 5100 shocks front and rear for a slightly stiffer, more controlled ride than OEM. 1.5” lift up front using the 5100’s adjustable height feature; no coil-bucket contact.
-Rough Country camber bolts for proper alignment up front.
-New General Spring HD leaf packs (not just an add-a-leaf band-aid solution, the whole pack). These ride way better than OEM, striking a great balance between road comfort, off-road capability, and carrying/towing capacity.
-New Old Man Emu U-bolts on the rear axle, along with 2* pinion spacers for ideal driveshaft alignment. No driveline vibrations at any speed.
-Rough Country 1.5” lift shackles. The ride height is even front and rear.
-Rear differential breather modification reduces the risk of blowing out axle seals or contaminating differential fluid with water or other debris.
-Metal anchor points in the trunk area for securing heavy loads (OEM points are plastic).

Maintenance:
-Installed new spark plugs and intake air filter at 100,000 miles
-Tires rotated at regular intervals, so wear is even.
-Oil changes every 5,000 miles with full synthetic 5w30.
-New passenger rear axle seal and bearing (the leak was likely due a clogged differential breather valve, which has since been addressed by rear differential breather modification)
-New OEM positive battery terminal
-New driver front catalytic converter with new gaskets and hardware. This fixed the *only* check-engine light that I’ve ever had on this car.
-Alignment less than 5,000 miles ago, with no off-highway use since. Steering is tight and straight- it's smooth and predictable on the highway.

Positive:
-This car drives like a much lower mileage vehicle- no clunks, wobbles, or loose bits.
-Frame was completely replaced in 7/2014 after a rear-ender that buckled the rear crush zone- no shoddy fixes involved.
-Frame is straight and rust-free and rocker panels are in excellent condition.
-2012 VQ40DE motors weren’t affected by faulty timing chain tensioners.
-Shifts are smooth and quiet with no grinding, the transfer case works great, the motor is smooth and solid, and no CELs.
-Manual transmission means no risk of SMOD as with automatic Xterras.
-Full-size (285 75r16) spare.
-Non-smoking vehicle.
-A/C blows ice cold.
-Exterior looks good: no hail damage, major marks, peeling clearcoat, etc. Wheels are in great shape as well. Previous owners had hail damaged body panels fixed at great expense.
-Includes original XTerra first-aid kit bag (empty).
-The rear fold-out cupholder works, a rarity in the Xterra world.

Negative:
-Scratch on the bottom of the front bumper cover; barely noticeable unless you’re looking at it from a low angle.
-Some small scratches/trail pinstripes and a 1” mark on the passenger rear.
-White mark on the trunk floor area.
-Screws in the side of the trunk area; had previously held up webbing for organizing gear and a fire extinguisher mount.
-Clutch makes some noise for a minute or so when just getting started after driving in dusty conditions. It's done this for the past 25k miles and does not affect operation.
-Paint has pinpoint marks from road debris.
-Hitch wiring plate had a run-in with a rock and has been bent back into shape; it still works just fine, and the hitch mount itself is undamaged.
-Scratches and marks on plastic trim throughout the interior, the one downside of a utilitarian interior that you can pretty much hose off.

The car just got a fresh synthetic oil change (good for 5,000 miles) and was thoroughly detailed inside and out. Includes original sale spec sheet, original brochure, all manuals that came with the car, and receipts for all work done by a previous owner (hail damage and rear ender repair).

Clean title in hand along with good CO emissions form from 7/2018. Asking $13,700 OBO; cash or cashier’s check only, no loans or payment plans.

PM or respond with any questions or to set up a time to come take a look. I’m happy to facilitate a safe, comfortable test-drive and will have hand sanitizer/wipes available. However, test drives are only open to those who already know how to drive stick.
