Ready for your adventure, or just to not look like everyone else in the campground?
2015 4x6 Cargo Mate v-nose cargo trailer (empty weight 750 lb, GVW 2,000 lb). White with stainless diamond plate rock guard and accents. The main mod other than as described below is a removable "mezzanine" deck inside, which is strong enough to use as a bunk if you want (personally, I'd be way to claustrophobic). The trailer is steel framed, has LED lights and a wheel jack. There is a light inside, but not sure how that's hooked up - maybe to the running lights? Clean title in my name.
Set up for camping with the following:
Roof rack: low profile roof rack made from Thule crossbars on unistrut. I had a full van rack on it, but it was too high to lift the canoe up there.
Smittybilt awning, bolted to the roof rack, and zips onto the tent.
CVT Black Butte tent. This is similar to the Oztent. They are hard to get now, and $425 if you can find them. It's known as the "30 second tent" and you really can set it up in 30 seconds, although it will take a few extra minutes to stake it down, which you will want to do. Heavy duty (and heavy), comes in rugged carrying case. You can of course use this separately. I searched around to find the smallest trailer that would fit the tent internally - thus the 6' long v-nose. You could put the tent on the roof rack if you needed more room inside.
Two brand new cots
30 gallon tank with electric pump connected to hose and sprayer that stow away and are accessible from the outside, right by the sink. There is a weatherproof switch for the pump by the sink as well.
Thule brand sink and counter. These are completely unobtanium now. They sold for a lot of money new and my guess is that Thule couldn't sell them at a price that people (other than me) would pay. They are a pretty cool design. They stow inside the trail, and pop onto permanently attached mounts on the outside of the trailer.
Larger replacement wheels and tires, less than 3,000 miles on them.
Task light over the sink and green locator light on the roof (so you can find your campsite when you go for a walkabout at night, or are at a festival with 100's of other campers). Weatherproof switches for these above the door.
Battery box
Charger
Gear caddy on back door. NOTE: DOES NOT come with any of the gear shown on the door, other than the black ballistic caddy itself. This setup worked well for us and I would recommend it though.
And we'll throw in the chairs.
A few issues:
-Does not have a battery. I used a standard deep cycle marine battery from War Mart. The lights in the pics are being run from my wife's scooter battery, but I should probably put that back in her scooter.
-Missing a side vent cover (it is somewhere between Padre National Seashore and Santa Fe)
-The awning was a wind casualty (NOTE: Make sure to stake your awning down if there is going to be any wind). It works fine in this setup, but will not free-stand. I am including the cross bars and mounting extrusion if you want to try to rebuild it - it would mainly take some fussing around to get the main extrusion all straightened out.
I believe this is a very fair price given I have a lot more than this invested in it, to say nothing of my time researching and building it. It's a lot of fun, it pulls nice a smooth, and it is very flexible, meaning you can use the trailer as a cargo trailer, or sleep directly in it, or whatever.
The final cool thing: the trailer makes a great dry erase board. The kids LOVE this feature.
Located Santa Fe, NM.
Lots more pics here (at some point it goes into everything I've ever sold on CL - shoulda made a separate album).
