Edit:
SOLD to an Expo member from Washington. Picked him and his dad up from the airport and they immediately embarked on their drive back home. Safe travels to them both!

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately our time with our Transit has come to an end. After several trips with our van we have determined that, while a very comfortable and capable vehicle, the Transit is not quite the vehicle we need for our travels. We are looking at moving to something with a true 4x4 system and more ground clearance to get us the places we want to go. We drove this van on forest service roads but nothing more severe due to the fear of getting in over our heads. For this purpose the van handled beautifully. The Ecoboost is an incredible motor and the on-road handling of this van is unmatched by any other cargo vehicle I’ve driven and owned.

The van is currently located in Minneapolis, MN. I am happy to pick up the buyer at the airport, or to coordinate with the buyer for shipping the vehicle (buyer covers shipping costs). Depending on the distance I may also be willing to drive the vehicle to you and fly back home (buyer covers all costs). And in case you are worried about the road salt, we were based in California until a few days ago, so this van hasn’t seen a midwest winter yet!

Happy to provide any additional info, details, or photos as needed. Please DM if interested. I’m out of town the weekend of August 7, but am planning on having the oil changed this week and the van washed the following week. Will update with more photos after the wash.

Details:
  • 2020 Ford Transit Crew 148” WB HR
  • Ecoboost, AWD
  • 14.5k miles
  • Blue Jeans Metallic color
  • Have all maintenance records from Ford dealer(s)
  • Asking price: $53k

Options:
  • This is a (mostly) fully loaded van. I think the only major options we did not order were the Sirus XM and navigation, and the upfitter switches. I’ll list the highlights below, but the window sticker is provided for the full options list.
  • 10-way power black ebony cloth seats (heated)
  • Reverse sensing system
  • Keyless Entry
  • Heavy duty tow package
  • Front/rear AC and heat
  • Adaptive Cruise
  • Front/Rear splitview camera
  • Blind spot assist
  • Extended Fuel tank
  • Trailer brake controller
  • Remote start
  • HID headlamps
  • Enhanced park assist
  • Auxiliary fuse panel

Accessories:
  • 36” 2-person XLT bench in black ebony (2020, matching fabric pattern with armrests and recline). Original 3-person bench also included.
  • Extra set of AWD steel rims. Purchased with the intent of mounting up snow tires, but haven’t bought those tires yet.
  • Ceramic tint for driver/passenger windows and windshield (rear windows are factory tinted)
  • WeatherTech floor mats for driver/passenger
  • WeatherTech rear mud flaps, Ford OEM front mud flaps (WT not compatible with front wheel well liner)
  • WeatherTech window shades (windshield, driver window, pass window)
  • OEM floor liner and rear door scuff plate
  • Rear door grab handles
  • Plasti-dipped wheels black

Build Out:
  • Very simple build with folding bed platform, wheel chock, and storage benches. Intended to be a “tent on wheels” and MTB/moto hauler, rather than a full on “van life” build.
  • No modifications to OEM sheet metal - everything bolts in using existing factory holes.
  • Folding murphy bed that is height adjustable on L-track. 1” square steel tubing for bed frames. Laser cut and welded steel panels to mount L-track to walls. Folding the beds up and down takes less than a minute and 1 person. Adjusting the height requires unbolting the hinges and takes 2 people roughly 10 minutes.
  • Wheel chock uses L-track and 3” square steel tubing.
  • Storage benches are made from ½” ADX plywood. Roughly 18” tall and 12” wide on each side.
  • Can provide link to detailed forum post upon request.

Known Issues:
  • Light paint scratches on sides from tree branches
  • Small dent in rear door from backing into tree branch
  • Small chip in windshield, repaired within 24 hrs of it occurring
  • Scrapes on lower plastic bumper from (carefully) discovering exploring approach angles
  • List of quality control issues from the factory (common for Ford Transits if you browse the forums). All resolved by the dealer and no issues ever since. Can provide link to detailed forum post upon request.

Very nice van with the right options, and good price too. Someone in the market would be crazy not to buy it.

Could you send the link for this? I am curious to see if our own 2020 AWD has some of these QC issues:

Is it riding season yet?
AWD with the 3.5 ecoboost = impossible to find. Nicely optioned. This won't last long.

Here is the link to the build details, and here is the link to the QC issues we initially had on our van.

Thanks, we really thought this would be our dream van. I had been drooling over the Transits ever since they were introduced in the US back in 2015, but I suppose my interests and needs have shifted since then, and I didn't take that into account before pulling the trigger on this purchase.

Thanks. I guess I got lucky, I haven't experienced any of these issues - but I can confirm what the dealer said on this, mine is the same:

  • Wiper arm on driver side missing seal - the dealer stated this was normal. When I pointed out how water drips onto the engine, pools in the bolt holes, and drips onto the connectors, they stated this was normal as well.
  • Rust on driveshaft and halfshafts since new - dealer stated this is normal
By the way, the rust was stressing me at first but now after 110000 miles it is sort of gone. It has turned into some sort of coating...

Your van is really nice. It should sell really fast.

Rust on halfshafts/driveshafts is indeed very normal.

Fun way to fix it, but I can't even get that far without saying it ain't asking too much for an OEM to paint all the parts underneath. At least coat them with SOMETHING.

So, fun way to fix it. Put the vehicle up on a lift. If you don't have a lift, buy one. If you don't have a building for a lift, build it. Really simple,, took me only 42 years. Start said vehicle on lift, put vehicle in drive, engage 4wd if equipped, release brake and let drivetrain spin at very low RPM.

Climb down carefully while drivetrain spins. This is safe, hold my beer and watch, I'll show you. Grab spray paint and paint everything under there the easy way while spinning.

If you think this idea is ghetto then use imported beer.

I have had tons of interest in the first 24 hrs of posting this vehicle. It seems I priced it too low, as I usually do when I sell vehicles. One day I will learn.

In any case, I have a buyer flying out early next week. I will leave the ad up in the meantime, but consider this vehicle SALE PENDING.
