I’m selling my 2021 Toyota 4Runner with the TRD Off Road Premium package. I’ve built this to be a tastefully modified and dependable vehicle for long distance off-road travel. As life goes, I’m looking to get this 4Runner in the rightful hands of someone who can enjoy it far more often than I can. Anyways, thanks for looking!

I purchased this vehicle new from Stevens Creek Toyota on March 7th, 2021 to replace my ever-unreliable Land Rover LR3. As we all do, I planned a future where I have this vehicle in 20 years and took care of it and modified it as such. With no expense spared—but without going overboard on unnecessary bling—I’ve outfitted this 4Runner with the right mods to make it an enjoyable rig to load up to the brim for the weekend/week/month and head out far past the city buzz and paved campgrounds.

New for the 2020+ models, this 4Runner has factory LED headlights and fog lights, adaptive cruise control, CarPlay/Android Auto, and Toyota Safety Sense (forward collision warning, emergency braking, auto high-beam, etc.)

The TRD Off Road Premium includes a locking rear differential and Multi-Terrain Select which offers a host of electronic aids to help in various off-road situations.

With so few miles, almost no service has been needed, save for a few (admittedly overzealous) break-in essentials:
  • Oil change + OEM filter @ 2,079 miles
  • Oil change + OEM filter @ 6,190 miles
  • Oil change + OEM filter @ 11,209 miles
This is a list of the major modifications I’ve done:
  • Slee sliders (~$1,500)
  • ARB Aluminum roof rack (~$1,200)
  • Rago Fab hidden winch mount + Warn Zeon 12S Platinum winch, Warn fairlead & sidewinder winch "hook" (~$3,000)
  • OME Nitrocharger Lift with JBA upper control arms; less than 1,000 miles ($1900)
  • 5x BFG KO2 tires - 285/70/17 + full size OEM TRD spare wheel; less than 1,000 miles ($1600 + mounting and alignment)
  • 3M Ceramic UV tint on all windows except windshield with lifetime warranty ($700)
  • ARB dual air compressor with vehicle-mounted air chuck ($600)
  • SwitchPros SP9100 + PowerTray for install ($600+)
  • Rago Fabrication rear MOLLE panels ($300)
  • Antigravity 100ah LiFePO4 battery; perfect health per the monitor as pictured ($1,200)
  • Redarc BCDC25 + wiring, hardware for install ($400)
  • OEM Toyota heated blind spot mirrors ($125)
  • OEM ambient light sensor (for auto-headlights, $140)
  • Desert Does It “Seat Jackers” ($160)
  • DiodeDynamics SSC1 Pro amber dust lights
  • Anytime Backup Camera (with front camera option added) ($200)
  • DFG Offroad tilting fridge slide ($250)
  • Custom-built drawers with kitchen pull out
  • LEDs throughout
Misc. things also included:
Other notes:
  • "Yo, James, that rake is whack!" Yeah... I have higher-spec springs in the rear to handle loads. With a few passengers or a camping trip worth of gear, the vehicle levels out very nicely.
  • There is a large scrape on the bottom rear and side of the bumper. This happened off-road and is pictured in detail. The scrape is down to the plastic, but is purely cosmetic.
  • There are minor indentations at the top of both rear door panels and some scuffs on the hand holds. This was from some unsecured cargo on an off-road trip and is also purely cosmetic. The blemishes are pictured in detail.
  • There are minor (and I mean minor) “Rocky Mountain pinstripes” on some of the bodywork, as is expected with off-road driving. That being said, I’ve taken great care to mitigate and reduce these scuffs in the clear coat. The paint can be brought back to a mirror finish with a full paint correction.
  • The vehicle has been professionally detailed (wash, clay bar, wax) in preparation for sale (8/10/22 by Ron's Mobile Detailing).
  • The 4Runner is wired for a ham radio and separate APRS beacon. The radio, wiring, and beacon will be removed unless the buyer is a licensed operator and would like to purchase the equipment. (Negotiable)
  • The vehicle is currently financed through TechCU in the SF Bay Area. We can deal with the payment, transfer of title, etc. in-person at the local branch.
  • I’d be happy to pick up any buyers who would like to fly in from San Jose (SJC) airport or San Francisco (SFO) airport.

Great looking truck- mods are functional without being too much for most daily driving. Can you confirm the tire size? (The wheels look bigger than 15 in the photos.) Also, where are your mpgs with those tires and lift?

Hah, great catch! I mis-wrote the tire sizes, but I’ve corrected the original post. For clarity, these are the factory 17” TRD off road wheels with BFG KO2 285/70/17 tires.

With the lift and tires, I get pretty close to what I got when the vehicle was stock—about 18-19 loaded, but not towing on the freeway. Around town, about 14-16, depending on traffic and the amount of stop and go. I don’t really “hypermile”, but I don’t drive aggressively, racing from stoplight to stoplight.

I work from home these days and don't have enough time to get out to enjoy the vehicle. On top of that, I'm looking to build an old Series 2 Land Rover, so between it sitting somewhat idle and needing to make some room in the driveway, I'm hoping it can go to a good home.
