VinceAtReal4x4's
Winch repair and 4x4 rescue specialist
If Superwinch had a flagship winch, the X9/S9 were it. These were made in the USA when Superwinch actually did that kind of thing. They still show up in listings on websites occasionally but aren't actually available unless there was some cache in the back of a warehouse. Superwinch has changed hands a couple times since these X9's were made, and the days of USA made winches are probably over permanently for them so these winches are a special item.
I really hesitate to sell this because the early X9 was my first winch back in the 90's on my first "Real 4x4", a Series III diesel LR, and it served so many years with lots of abuse and I treated it poorly. An associate had this piece of gold buried in his shop from a 4x4 build that never happened and I gasped when he told me about it. The box was never opened! I had to open it to take a pic and make sure its all there but that's all the contact this had with the outside world since being boxed up in Connecticut years ago.
These are unique in the world of conventional winch designs. They are legendary, last forever, are very simple, super tough and use a differential gear design and better brake than your average 3-stage planetary winch setup. Uses a 12v 4.2 horsepower series wound motor and clocks in at almost 40FPM no-load line speed. Toyota was even offering these as factory winch gear on their rigs sold in Australia. They were also often paired with Defenders/Land Rover's, probably due to the UK connections Superwinch had there. (The Husky winches were made there!)
$750 takes it. I doubt you'll ever see this kind of deal pop up again. I'd defintely take one of these over the modern $1000+ equivalents!
$975 if you want it with USA made Dyneema Spydura 3/8" rope.
Pick up near LA. Can ship but it's going to run around $95 to the lower USA.
