Solved - Separate Signal (Yellow), Brake and Tail/Marker Lights on Trailer

On our trailer I installed yellow signal lights along the sides and at the back (like a tour bus) using a Curt 2 to 3 wire converter.

It worked great until we bought a new F350 and found out that Ford's PWM (pulse width modulation) would not trigger the Curt Converter. The signal lights would switch sides when the brakes where used.

After hours of trouble shooting the PWM technology there wasn't any progress. The easiest thing to do was switch the trailer back to combined tail/stop/signals but the converter and yellow lights were left in place.

Recently I dug into it again and found a non contact (ferrite cores) convert made by Tekonsha.

The Tekonsha converter takes non PWM power from the truck charge wires and sends it to the Curt Converter.

Both converters are mounted in the trailer.

It is important that the ferrite cores are installed so the current passes through all the cores in the same direction
