Veteran Mogger Alan Draper posted on the Moglist the details of the upcoming Mogfest to be held in five weeks at Truckhaven near the Salton Sea. Note that it's historically been pretty easy for non-owners to show up at these Mogfests and get good trail rides from the friendly participants.

Guys and Gals;
Only six more weeks until the 2010 MogFest at Truckhaven! For those of you who haven't heard, we have moved the Southern California MogFest from Calico to a great area down by the Salton Sea this year. In 2001 and 2002 we held the event in this location and had a great time. Not the creature comforts of Calico but there are hundreds of miles of trails from scenic 2WD to shorts-staining hard core.

This year will be a no-host event since the last few Calico events have been a bit overwhelming for the short list of people doing the planning and setup. We will be setting up Mog Central (may need some tables), coffee for the group and probably the Mogarita bar. Other details are still in the works.
This is planned to be a seat-of-the-pants event so don't expect a lot of structure or advanced scheduling. There are a number of Moggers who are very familiar with the area and will be able to take us on a number of half day trail rides.
Zack Norwood has graciously volunteered to be the point man for the event and he has a dedicated core group at his disposal to make this year another success. One benefit of camping out at Truckhaven is having a nightly campfire. Anyone who knows me is aware I likes me a big ol' campfire! I would, however, ask that you keep the children from playing in the fire as we do not want and burnt little ones!
Many of the Syncro guys were very interested in the event so I hope we get to see some of them out there as well.
Let's get ready to 'wheel!
