Spark plug replacement air compressor

I had one, and as previously stated, they were SLOW and easy to burn your hands installing it. It would be almost impossible to use with some of todays "hidden" sparkplugs.

seems like you could canibalize a compression tester to make your own if you wanted. would probably need to be able to pull the injector plug for that cylinder in order to not be pumping fuel/air.

one other concern would be if the vehicle has aluminum heads, they don't like having the plugs changed while the motor is hot. you'd have a lot bigger problem that a flat tire if you boogered up a sparkplug hole.
If I were determined to do this I would just buy the adapter hose for a leak-down tester. Comes with the fitting to thread into either common automotive sparkplug hole on one end, and the most common (in the U.S.) quick detach compressed air male fitting on the other end. Make up a female X female adapter coupling and a normal air hose will connect. Mine has the male fitting directly crimped in place, so no changing the fitting itself.

A modified spark plug or compression tester hose would work (thats what mine is/was) but as I understand the Chuffer they did not actually use the compression from the motor rather the compression from the motor drove a diaphram that sucked and pumped fresh air. Anyone confirm that? I'd love to see some pics of an actual Chuffer.

You'd be creating a small bomb if you used the fuel/air mix directly from your cylinders and compressed it to 30psi or more. chuffers use a diaphragm to separate the compression gasses from the compressed air.

There we are! Pretty simple little device, and now you can even buy one! (The ones I had only came with the biggest of those adapters. I guess the other adapters in the pic are m/c specific?).

Right on, I can see the diaphram unit, Would love to see a cut-away of exactly how they make it work but my imagination will suffice :D

This has to be the most brilliant thing I have ever heard...

Lots of useful stuff goes on in a motor besides that whole spinning shaft thingy that comes out of the back. The awesomeness of this is on the order of the exhaust manifold burrito cooker. :sombrero:
