Spotted a nice 300GD on the freeway in Southern California today, stepped on the gas to take a closer look and saw a for sale sign in the window! Called the number to get a bit more info.
It's a 1984 Mercedes 300 GD diesel. 180k miles on the chassis, 20k on new Diesel engine. Rebuilt drivetrain components. From what I could see this is a prime example and has been well taken care of. Brought up from Costa Rica in 1986. Should not have the typical rust these have when the live in Europe.
Guy was asking $25 k. On the high side, but it seems like a nice example of a hard to find classic G.
This is the best photo I could get while getting off my freeway exit as the truck passed. Might be worth taking a look at if this is your kind of truck. Wish I had the cash!
