SR Axel Swap Question

I just bought a rear axel from a 1999 with an air locker that I plan on swapping into my 89 SWB V6. The guy I bought it from already had the gears swapped out for 4.63 so I'm good there. But I think I might have an issue with the drive shaft bolting up. He gave me the last 6" of the drive shaft from the 1999. Am I going to have to have a drive shaft made or is there a way to bolt them up??? any thing else I need to know before I get started????

I have tried the 4x4wire. I have never had much luck actually finding what I'm looking for there. Every thread I have found suggest 95-96 sr axels. If I'm not mistaken the 99 axels have a different flange on the drive shaft.

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
should be able to swap the lower yoke on your original shaft to make it work (simple U-joint removal and installation) typically I just redrill the pinion flange and call it done. Also "axle"

Wow, you do better then me. That search would get me Goose Feather Pillow results on the wire :Wow1:

1994 SR is the oddball, 1999 just has a CV upper joint on the drive shaft.

Thanks Toasty. I will check it out. After I thought about it a while I figured I could look up replacement u-joints for each model and see if they came up the same part#. Between work and kids I haven't even had time to unload the new "Axle" from my truck much less compare the drive shaft flanges/ujoints.
