Thanks for your interest. The bed slide sold locally off through Craigslist to a contractor guy with a classic Ford longbed.
I bought my Stahl Challenger TR service body trailer:

with the $1,000 option of a 48" x 96" bed slide that extends much of the way out of the bed. Paul and I took the slide out a couple of weeks ago when we started to turn the trailer into an overlanding unit. (The trailer build thread is here: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/132612.)
Anyway, the bed slide is now superfluous to need and, following my standard procedure, you all get the opportunity before it hits the local Craigslist. Actually, while I wouldn't say that this is normal component of the average overlanding rig. it could be a really handy thing, especially for someone with a RTT mounted over the bed.
Someone with fab skills could make this work for a shorter bed, but for a "drill 6 holes and tighten some bolts" no-brainer install, you need an eight foot bed. This is a heavy duty unit and it weighs a couple hundred pounds. Made of steel covered with thick gloss black paint; the bed is black-stained plywood and it is possible to replace the plywood when it gets worn. (The current plywood is as-new, having done pretty much nothing but sit under the carport.)
I'm not a bed slide expert, but this seems a pro-level one. Good for 1000 pounds, and it has detents at a couple of places. This one might be a cut above the norm for having a turn handle to release the bed, rather than requiring the user to release a latch or two on the side. The sides of the slide are pretty low, unlike some I've seen that have tall side edges to hold things in.

Happy to answer any questions. Send me a PM if you're interested. Somewhat obviously, local pickup only--westside Portland, Oregon. $500 firm seems like an equitable price.
