Staun Tire Deflators - Video

Great find Mark!

I actually sent this to a customer who was asking how the Stauns work.
If you listen hard, you can figure out what the man is saying

The staun deflators are wonderful. Metal construction. Easily adjusted. Sometimes when the trail head is basically a dirt path I will put these on and drive until I don't hear the hiss.

I feel a new Overland Journal article here. A shoot out for the best deflators. As long as you will always deflate to the same psi, as I do, the Staun are hard to beat. Even if I did want to go even lower than 12psi, I'd buy another set and adjust them to the new pressure.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. I used this method to set my Staun and it was much faster than my previous method.

Cheers ,

Cool video. I love my deflators, they are very nice to have. A shoot out would be cool, but is there even anything else that is close to as cool as these?

I think these are the coolest I have seen yet. http://www.extremeoutback.com/index.cgi?cart_id=8497619.6900&pid=119

I saw them in my Overland Journal which I got yesterday (freeking awesome by the way). Not much of a description on the website, [edit: I found the descriptions on the web and changed to the appropriate link...] but this is what was written about them in OJ.

"Military Specification Deflators"

"These mil-Spec multi-choice deflators feature six different pressure ranges, all preset and easily visible. Changing between pressures only requires turning the dial to the desired number. The unit has the ability to lower the pressure in 2psi increments, with presets for 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20 psi. The units are expensive, but built to extreme condition standards and are nearly twice as fast as currently available deflation devices. Overland Journals publisher (AKA Scott and Chris) used these units in the Artic at temperatures down to -20F without failure...."

Pretty pricey, but im honestly not sure how much the staun deflators cost... can someone tell me? I need a set of deflators, and like these!! Even at a hundred bucks, looks like a nice easy to use unit. ~James [another edit: Holy cow! That price is only for one.... I was thinking it was for four of them...]

The staun are around $50 to $60 depending on the place. Well worth it.

Quadratec has them for $59.99. There are four in a pack. Plus a nice little case for them.
