storage nets?

I'm interested in finding a good source of cargo nets to use in my trailer build. I think I want a few in the tub, perhaps some on the yet to be built, but long fabled lid as well as in the nosebox for organizing odds and ends.

I'm not looking for the heavy duty Raingler nets I see on Jeeps (looks like good stuff though), but rather smaller ones in various square or rectanguluar sizes like you see on the lower door panel of Land Rovers.

Something like these on Ebay UK could work, but would prefer something sold locally...

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Example prices...

http://www.cargogear.com/bednet-cargo-nets/bednet.htm (they also have the lighter nets like you describe available)

I have the small one I use frequently. The webbing is very well made with beefy grommets. However, the bungee straps that come with it are not very impressive. They are removable and you can just use regular straps or some other fastener. The larger ones may have better straps.

Appreciate the leads from both of you, but I should be a little clearer. I'm looking for nets that are more pouch like. Closed on 3 sides, open on the top and designed to be mounted vertically on a truck door or the side walls of the trailer tub.

Thanks, that was close too.

Searched some more tonight and found exactly what I'm looking for, except it's in the UK. Not a deal breaker as I've order a lot of Rover stuff from Ebay.uk so I've shown a propensity to overpay for shipping, but I'd love to find this stuff domestically.

Anyone know a local source for these types of pocket nets?

Thx.

Wow - talk about an OJ sighting. Who knew they'd have a picture of OJ in one of the pocket nets on this UK website! Check out the pictures towards the bottom of the page. Pretty cool.

How about these?

The one with the propane bottles has a fabric back.

Interesting timing, I looked for a while and couldn't find any I liked. Have worked with someone on custom making the two styles above. Was just starting to explore if it was cost effective to have some made.

Here are the sizes I was thinking and some rough prices.
Wire Frame 10"x10" $13, 10"x20" $19
Fabric Backed 8"x12" $22, 10"x20" $29

Telwyn, others, look like something you'd be interested in at that price point?

I bought my map pockets from these people at a LR show,

I seem to think it was about half the price of the Mudstuff ones, unfortunately there website seems to be the worlds worst and has no pics or prices, you'd need to E mail them.

And if they're rippng you off on shipping, I'm in the UK. I could forward them onto you.

Definitely. I have some from Cabela's similar to that but they stopped carrying them for some reason.

How about you go buy a roll of paracord. Figure out your dimesions on a sheet of plywood. Then do your outside out of paracord and small steel o rings and then either weave the inside or stitch with a leather needle and heavy duty thread. I did one to go above my head on my wrangler and it only took about 3 hours and cost about $10.00 and have plenty of leftovers. The paracord can be had a www.knivesshipfree.com for $10 per 100 feet and this is the good stuff. Hit up tandys for a leather needle. I also just used the paracord inner strands to sew together the netting. It is rated at 35 lbs but once sewn up right held 180 lbs static no problem. Just my .02 of why buy it when you can build it to your dimensions for a fraction of the cost and not much time at all.

Although not necessarily a storage net, another product that I think has a lot of possibility that makes commercial and military products for all manner of land, water, and aircraft is "Load Tamer Cargo Nets." I've seen some of their applications for military vehicles from John Deere Gators to 7 ton MTVR's at the "Modern Day Marine Expo" at Quantico and it's pretty sturdy gear that can accomodate a variety of different sized objects. That have a lot of other neat gear also...

Thanks, lots of good ideas everyone, but I think these from CompactCamper would do the trick best and save me on the UK shipping (appreciate ColinTheCop's offer to ship though).

Are you able to sell these yet or still in development?

I'd probably get 2-4 of the wire ones and possibly 1-2 of the fabric backed ones.

I've only got a few prototypes at the moment. I was planning on getting some final pricing numbers and having a batch made before the end of the month.

From discussions with others it seems like the 10x10 wire frame and both sizes of fabric backed would be popular. Not hearing a lot of interesting in the10x20 wire frame.

What sizes interest people here?
