Well, all good things must end...My eleven week vacation was soon coming to an end. I needed to get back to work and my daughter needed to head to preschool. What to do? We packed up the car and headed for Colorado. The plan was to see some new things along way and then eventually meet my sister in Steamboat Springs. Our weather window was perfect. Well, hot and dry...The smoke from California fires was constantly in the sky however. Temperatures were nice because we were mostly up in the high country.

Yes, you can see a few No Tresspassing signs on this property...We started our travels with a stop at the Skinwalker Ranch. If you are into UFOs, Aliens, and other crazy stuff; check out the Skinwalker Book. My wife has read it a few times. She wanted to see the place for herself. This is the closest we got...

Our next stop was heading down to Echo Park in Dinosaur National Monument. The road is spectacular...

The campground at Echo Park is great. We are not into campgrounds that much but this one was spectacular...The crickets were crazy loud at night...

The views abound here...Canyon country is spectacular! Lilly was trying to spot a hawk that was calling from the far bank.

Good times!

The road led us to Whispering Cave...nice eye candy...A fun, quick stop!

Lilly loved to "read" the history of the ancient petroglyphs the Fremont Indians pecked into the walls a 1000 years ago.

The road leading us out...

There was an old settlement that we stopped to explore...

Major water crossing! The clear spring provided water for the settlement...
More to come...
