Never done this before but if it can be done in the Congo it should be doable in Reno with 24/7 Wal Mart support and all my tools. I've got the repair manual...

I've got warm beer for you if you stop by.

Please advise...

Had a moment... Can I just drop the rear driveshaft on this truck and go front wheel drive? Should have tried that before all this other bull****

Hang it up for the night, your options and path forward will be much clearer in the morning with daylight.

Re assembled rear end. Removed rear driveshaft, back on the road in fwd, seems to work great.

I knew WM would let folks sleep in their lots for the night but did not know auto repair was possible. Good for you. I have seen Jeeps with diff problems remove drive shaft and run the other working diff to get home. One guy down the street from me disconnected his front diff and did not connect it back for a year and used only the rear one.

Funny coincidence.

The only time I slept in a WM lot was when I flat towed a Sportsmobile back from Atlanta. And of course that involved pulling the driveshaft.

Management and security didn't even blink at the work going on.
