I built this 15 years ago to pull on the Rubicon behind my old CJ-5, it worked like a charm! Then a few years later I built my Scrambler and the trailer just sat unless I took several people in the Scrambler and used the trailer for gear. Last trip out one of the trailer tires got wedged between some big rocks and the 200+ to 1 gearing in the Scrambler just pulled her on through and resulted in a bent axle before I knew it!
Trailer would work good with a roof top tent if you added the top that I never got around to. The current axle could be straightened and guessed or you can throw whatever you want under it? It rides on 33's now, but the current wheels don't go with the trailer, I have white spokes if you want 5 on 5.5. The entire box is aluminum diamond plate with welded water tight seams. It's styled after a military trailer but shorter . Set up to run a slide in style hitch, I use a lock and roll.
The box measure 55-3/4 long by 51-1/2 wide, the bottom is 41-1/2 wide, it flares out at the top. Pictured with my SXS and Scrambler to show size. The scrambler will be up for sale next as I'm going to a Gladiator. Also built the Scrambler from scratch and has a smog legal v8/350 swap. I'm located one hour South/East of Sacramento, Ca in Sutter Creek. Will need to be towed on a flatbed trailer or I can remove the axle and put it in the back of a truck? I don't know the weight but it is lite and easy to move and tow, nice start for your adventure trailer! Price is firm at $2500, or it will go up when I put a new axle under it.
If you need more info or pictures please let me know. Has a clean California title.
