T100 extracab bed size question

Hi folks!

I am about to buy this truck:


1996 T100 with 104k miles

And this flippac:


Age unknown, but torsion bar recently replaced.

(I am flying from my home in Bozeman, MT, to Iowa for the truck and then driving it to Seattle to pick up the flippac. Really. This is the truck and camper I've always dreamed of)

I just want to be sure that the 1996 and 1997 bed sizes are the same. All the literature I can find says they are, but the red truck's bed just looks longer to me for some reason. I'll be sure to post pictures of my flippac interior build when I get it going! This will be my full time residence for 8 months per year and has to be done on a budget.

Optical illusion. There was only one bed length with the extended cab trucks. You got some driving to do.

This is the exact setup I have, and I love it. They only made two bed sizes - 6.5' and 8'' and all years were the same dimensions.

There are some differences between the 2WD and 4WD beds, but only with respect to mounting hardware that is attached underneath. Go get them both while you can!

Fantastic stuff. I don't think I will be able to get quite that fancy with mine, but I love the overhead LED strip and that will certainly be an addition in my truck. Can you tell me the distance between the tailgate and the wheel wells? I have a very nice NRS 65qt cooler (same as a Yeti, but better latches and less $). I currently have the approximate dimensions of the truck bed drawn out in my living room and now I'm not certain that it will fit where I want it to

Looks like right around 30.5".
