I sincerely apologize about recreating this thread over and over... I finally discovered why I kept accidentally deleting it... it is exceedingly easy to do so if you (somehow) end up on the mobile web interface, but from your laptop.

I am not interested in splitting the truck and flip-pac... as I think there's a fair bit of value entrained in having all the kinks worked out in the the cabinetry and electrical system.

All pictures available here.

An album that highlights recent maintenance (various degrees of recent): timing belt, water pump, brakes, cv axles, spark plugs, valve gasket, mass airflow sensor, the premium full synthetic oil changes, clutch, muffler, maintenance of various fluids, and tires... maintenance documents

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Flip-pac sets up in ~30 seconds
  • The Flip-Pac camper provides full standing height... people often think this is just a roof top tent, but a Flip-Pac is much more livable than that. The Flip-Pac is no longer made, but the successor can be viewed here.
  • "Tons" of storage in the benches / storage compartments / cabinetry
  • Excellent maintenance during my ownership... I'd expect this thing to easily make it to 300-400k miles
  • Fresh oil change / all fluids are up to date and points lubed
  • Electrical system makes watching movies in bed possible... indefinitely with alternator / solar power. Can power a low-voltage electric blanket, your gadgets, whatever.
  • One of the most versatile overland vehicles
  • One of the most reliable engines ever... research the "5VZ-FE 3.4L V6".
  • Always changed with Mobil 1 synthetic or similar during my ownership
  • Much better MPG than those domestic beasts
  • Much much lighter than a truck camper, which leaves the off-road capabilities intact
  • Batteries are still young and should have many cycles on them
  • Have the owners manuals for the Midnite Solar Kidd, Alps inverter / charger, and Firestone Airbags

TRUCK
  • 1999 Black Toyota Tacoma Ext Cab SR5 TRD
  • Manual transmission
  • 4x4 (with properly functioning 4-high and 4-low)
  • Properly locking factory electric rear locker
  • Runs perfect... oil always filled (during my ownership) with Mobil One synthetic every 3-5k miles... previous owner reports similar
  • Very well-maintained during my ownership... with docs to support. I have fixed things *as soon* as they came up and fixed them. Often at the dealer.
  • Clean carfax report
  • Clean South Dakota title
  • Air conditioning works well
  • Cruise control
  • Pop up sunroof
  • Power windows and locks
  • Kenwood bluetooth-enabled cd / stereo w/ microphone
  • Toyo Open Country AT tires from Les Schwab with coverage
  • Tires rotated and balanced early and often
  • Driver and passenger air bags
  • New brakes, tires, clutch, timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, mass airflow sensor last fall and this spring
  • New cv axles, front brakes, windshield
  • 2016 battery with receipt
  • Towing package
  • 7-way outlet towing connection
  • Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller
  • Firestone air bags for easy load leveling when hauling a trailer
  • Rubberized floor mats for easy cleaning
  • Newish exhaust
  • Locking gas tank
  • Bedliner
  • K & N air filter

FLIP-PAC
  • Full head room in the middle
  • Rated to 1000-lbs on the flip-top
  • 6 screened windows
  • Custom 2" high-density foam bench seats
  • Weighs a scant 340-lbs or something, which leaves the offroad abilities largely intact
  • Storage compartments with teak-oiled marine grade wood
  • No heavy lumber, but strong
  • Easy to re-oil / maintain
  • Queen-size mattress: 3" of high-density foam fits in the upper compartment
  • Gray SLO Sails Rain fly with all 6 windows... works very very well... not a drop intruded during a 5-day rain
  • I am skeptic that the new Habitat actually performs near as well as this SLO Rain Fly
  • After-market high-performance alloy sway-away torsion bar makes opening or closing take < 30 seconds
  • Custom 20% dark tinted windows for privacy in camp
  • 3 sliding windows
  • 2 interior lights
  • 2 stanchions come down to the hood for additional support, but the torsion bar really takes the load

AUXILIARY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

TRUTH IN ADVERTISING
  • Several paint blemishes but nothing too major... helps it from getting too much attention :p
  • 192k and still being driven
  • There's a small crack on the Flip-Pac filled in with epoxy
  • I have a $400 quote on some front-end work... you should find nothing else mechanically wrong at this time.

That fellow's finances fell through... this vehicle is for sale again... and has a price drop on it too and I've included a link to some maintenance records.
