looking at a newer crew cab Tacoma and was wondering what others did for using the rear seat for storage? I've seen totes thrown back there but I know someone out there has come up with something cool ... post up pics if you can

I actually just left my seats in and use it for dry storage. Pillows, Sleeping bags, Clothes. Its so much easier and nicer to not have to worry about stuff getting wet. BUT if you are thinking of building a platform or drawers of some sort, Scott Brady did a decent job in his 2001 taco years ago. Its somewhere on here.

I couldn't sacrifice bed space and wanted to build a water setup. This is my quick build. I work on construction sites, and use the water daily for refilling my water bottle or cleaning off at the end of the day. Most useful mod so far and I'm definitely under $150 for the whole thing. The flat area is for a cooler and eventually a fridge.

I also saw a Tacoma on CL recently that had a nice setup but forgot to save the pictures and the listing is now flagged and I cant find any cached versions. From what I remember, it was a similar design as my box, but it came forward the whole depth of the seat, had a top storage area and cubbies on the sides for stuff.
