Talk to me about grounding

dzzz

Is it worth going to the effort on maintaining a single ground path? I have a choice of upgrading the vehicle OEM ground to heavier wire or installing a separate path from the camper to truck frame.
Assume I have a massive amount of sensitive electronics.

Having a a battery monitor, I had to reroute all my grounds through a 500 amp shunt.

I've upgraded my grounds, and added some more like one from frame to engine.
From the same frame point I added a cable to the alternator(-) stud. This stud also is connected to the same engine ground that goes to my shunt. dodge vans seem to be sensitive to poor or missing grounds. I was seeking to eliminate this and increase alternator charging current as I had beefed up the Positive side of the charging circuit

I don't know if this is considered multiple path or not. The noisiest devices are my solar charge controller and battery monitor.

The only effect I notice is that Analog channel 6 out of TJ has diagonal waves running across the screen, which disappear if I pull the Solar fuse. AM radio might be affected too, but I don't often go there.

Interesting topic.

All my grounds go through the shunt. Otherwise it would not see the alternator amperage.

The only negative cables/wires that goto my 3 batteries(2 house,1 engine) come from the shunt.
