TDI Wrangler Conversion

Anyone here seen this one before? The price is a little steep @ $2600 for the stage 1 kit, but looks like it includes some NICE hardware. My wrangler's 2.5 is pretty tired and probably on borrowed time, so this is looking increasingly good to me:

There is a thread around somewhere on this. It is exciting that someone is trying to do this. TJ's are in the works.

These guys are local down here, I spoke to them over the phone. Super professional guys, know what they are doing, they specialize in VW's and all sort of modifications for VW cars. Jeep conversion is something new, they are trying to see if there is a market for such an expensive conversion. Asked it it'd work on JK's.. But from what I understood the little diesel is going to be working too hard to haul a 4 door, not even saying pull a trailer and 35's. It's a great idea though. And if you have the dough and YJ/TJ it's perfect!

turn key runs about $16k for a circa 2006 1.9 TDI, I was looking at his but have not seen too many cheap TDI's with all the necessary parts.

Looking around some more, there's this company, Acme Adapters that makes a kit to go to the Toyota truck transmissions for a significant bit less (~$600 for the basic kit). Since the AX5 is an Aisin which shares a lot in common with the Toyota, it should be feasible to get a Toyota bellhousing and swap out input shafts and be able to bolt up a TDI that way.
