Tensioner gap question

Got the tensioner in as you can see, the pin slides in and out with a little bit of resistance, but really not that difficult.
And the gap(protrusion) is 5mm (manual says should be 3.8 to 4.5mm). Just wondering if half a millimeter will make enough of a difference to worry about?

Pin should have no resistance. Also, rotate the engine a complete revolution or two and check the pin again. It should continue to slide in and out with no resistance.
