The ExPo team just picked up one of the new Tepui Kukenam Ruggedized tents for evaluation, and at first glance it seems they've been lurking in our Sure-Fire Ways to Improve Your Roof Top Tent thread. We're looking forward to getting it out on the trail in coming weeks and seeing how it holds up, but in the mean time here's a list of features on the new tent:

  • 56" x 48" x 12" closed, 56" x 96" x 52" open
  • 165 pounds
  • 8'6" heavy duty telescoping ladder (about a 2' minimum height)
  • 4-season rating
  • Diamond plate aluminum base
  • Heavier 360g dual stitched fabric
  • Anti-condensation mat under the mattress
  • Fully wrapped 3/4" heavy duty internal frame
  • Heavy duty 3-bolt hinges and welded aluminum base construction
  • Extra-large internal pockets, gear anchor points, more pockets, and bedding strap, and even more pockets...
  • Velcro window surround for attachable clear window
  • Available in "Haze Grey", as well as the original (and very bright) "Expedition Orange"

Observer
I have the very same tent, their Kukenam Ruggedized v.2 in Expedition Orange & love it. To say its easy to spot from far away in the forest is an understatement, especially when getting in from a late hike. That & the added storage & anchor points on tent base sure come in handy.

Now all I want is one of these wicked trailer set ups like shown on Tepui's website.
