TEPUI XL KUKENAM RUGGEDIZED - Just need another opinion, or a few!

Ok, ok ok! I know I'm new here, and the "which RTT is right for me" debate has been done. And done... and done.

I just need to know if I should jump on a deal for the price, regardless.

Got a guy selling a Tepui XL Kukenam Ruggedized, for an even grand. I have seen pictures and all seems good minus a bend in the ladder which is an easy fix. Lightly used, zippers, seals, etc. all look in order.

Its me, the wife, and 4 yr old.

I mean to say, is this a "just do it" kind of deal?

I think it sounds like a good deal...I've been in the market for an RTT for a while now and they're hard to find in good condition at that price. Personally, I would not let that deal pass me by. But that's just my 2 cents.

Box Rocket (user name for Adam on ExPo) is a dealer for Tepui. He might be able to chime in...he seems to know the products better than anyone.

First I would make sure it is an XL and not a standard size Kukenam because that is a great price. I had a regular Kukenam as my first RTT and I loved it. When the the ruggedized XL model was available I decided to upgrade and could not be happier. The XL definitely is big enough for the three of you.

Guy excepted half payment in advance of my good faith. Other half upon me picking it up.
Then wouldn't let me transfer via bank, or send a certified check... wasted my only day off for 10 days dealing with him. Even sat in the bank parking lot for 90 minutes waiting for him to "get back to me"
What a day.

Sorry to hear it. Sounds like a typical online classifieds scam to me. Unfortunately far too common. Sellers will demand a cash in advance payment and then skip town and/or disappear and you're out money and no 'product' to show for it.
.
FWIW, $1000 is a great deal on an XL Ruggedized if it's truly in good shape. If the guy happens to check out, I'm happy to help you get a replacement ladder if it's needed (or anything else for that matter). If it doesn't pan out, I can get you a new one in either Grey, Olive Green or Expedition Orange. Forum members get 10% off.
