The good old days of tires 7.50 -16

7.5x16 Firestone translugs are alive and kicking in central America. Big plant in costa rica. Why?

Because a US made 255/85/16 BFG KM2 costs >$400 Bux down there. Plastic tyres are 1/5th the cost. Economics > Ride quality in central America.

I run the second pic Goodyear G90's on my 110. They have been great, solid in the snow and mud. Wear quickly on pavement tho and I will probably replace with the KM2's. I would go Michelin XZL but hard to get and mucho $$

I run 7.50 R16s on my 16" split rims on my 85 Landcruiser. Sure, they are not great over 65, but they do 65 no problem. I live in the mountains where we have nasty snow and ice the Goodyear Workhorse are right at home. I'll be going to a summer tire when it warms up though because they are wearing a bit faster than I like.

I've got a set of Goodyear Wrangler TG radials in size 7.50x16 LT on my Series 2a 109" Land Rover ......I bought them a few years ago, and I know that Michelin still make that size........... and folks are quite right in saying 235/85x16" are a very close match.
