The JTs ability to handle weight

Lol, and I wouldn't tow over 2000# with my LJR, much less towards the 3500.
well. this scaled at 3500# and the picture was on Mirage Trailers web site for years. A load of chimney brick out of a 3 storey home.

But on the same note...... yer LJR is rated to tow 3500#..... kudos to you for being cautious.

On the logic, the TJ weighs over 4100#.... And F-150's curb weight varies from 4,069 to 5,697 pounds.....
A TJ is rated to tow 50% of its GVWR....... yet an F150 tows MORE than 2800#.

Pull yer head out of the sand man...... your LJR is rated to tow 3500# legally
Altho definitely do not tow more than you are comfortable with...... lol..... sorry the lol was pure sarcasm to your lol

The picture ^^^ is 10 years old, I now know what 3500# looks like and have never gone there since, not because it was a problem,,,, just because my TJ is rated to haul 2000#.

I do this often..... I'm just more conscious of being legal today.

I often say the TJR is a powerhouse. And get lots of laughs. But 4.0L, D44s front and back, 4 wheel disc brakes, 4100# weight, 5/6 speed.... 4.10 ratios..... it never leaves me wanting more even towing my 2000# work trailer daily in the mountains..... Most guys complain about rowing the gears but heck..... thats why I LOVE driving. Why I LOVE the mountains.Otherwise get the biggest engine you can find backed by a slush box and be happy....

My 2, TJRs have 570K kms on them, the 2000# trailer they tow has over 160K kms on it...... all mountain driving all 4 seasons. If you can tow 7000# with an F150..... you can tow 3500# with an LJR.

I have a history of Jeeps. My first car, 1972 was an M38, I drove it daily in Alberta in Grade 12.... no roof, no doors.... Alberta winters. My Uncle drove a Jeep in Europe, 1944 when ALL Jeeps were government issued..... Ya might say I love them.

An in progress picture..... Man I LOVE my work..... they pay me for this....

Between my '17 Tacoma OR and my '22 JTR I replaced it with, I feel the Tacoma suspension wouldn't settle as much under load, but the Pentastar+8-speed of the JTR isn't nearly as affected power and MPG-wise by a few hundred pounds as the Taco was. Especially combined with the Rubicon gearing. There's benefits to each and the Taco is certainly more composed on the highway, but I wouldn't go back to a Tacoma from my JTR. I'm packing the stock suspension, some typical mods (Jeep steel bumpers, winch+synthetic line, recovery gear) plus an OVRLND camper that's about 325lbs, which gave my about 1" front, and 1.5" of rear compression. I'll be adding a spacer in the rear to get back to a factory rake when I just have a static load.

@Bushmaster5K, with your extra load, how much lift did you get out of the AEV suspension over the Rubicon stock? Do you have any side shots with your 33s? I wouldn't mind correcting my "squish" but don't really want to upsize my 33s for awhile, if ever.
