The new Mac Book Pro is here

I just saw this today, it looks pretty cool. The Macbook seems to have the same graphics card?? if so, it would be a good deal as well

I am holding out for a Blueray player. I read that there were complex licensing issues holding that feature back.
I bet Microsoft and Apple are fighting over who has it first!

I am a Apple person and I think the new Macbook Pro is horrible.

Horrible looking: black screen and keyboard, with aluminum body? its like the old titanium powerbook all over again!

Only comes in a gloss screen!? What about us people that need the laptop for work? Designers, Video Editors, etc. glass causes glares!

The only thing I like is the brick aluminum body. The rest is horrible I think. Im going to pick up a second hand macbook pro instead.

Got to agree, not liking the look - but the gloss only screen is a deal breaker, the reflections as seen on the imac are pretty bad. It looks sharp, but get near a light source and you're sunk.

Saw them in person and they are beautiful. I wasn't sure about the black bezel at first either, but in person it works and the workmanship is the best I've ever seen from Apple.

I'm waiting for an Apple "netbook" with a larger version of the iPhone touch screen and the new MacBook aluminum billet body. Maybe 6 months from now?

Incidentally, Apple is now the third largest cell phone company (after Nokia and Motorola). In the past 12 months, Apple has sold 6.9 million iPhones.

Apple has a way of moving the legasy folks along slowly - I am guessing that technology is coming forth in the MacBook Air

It has been very easy for Apple to bring these new technologies into the post personal computer devices like the iPhone - helping users enjoy the new GUI.

Apple has known for many years that the Mouse is dead and not intuitive to use.

Time will tell just how fast Apple will drag the user to the future.

When they come out with a tablet form notebook that is akin to a large iPhone, ... that is when I pull the trigger on a new one. For now, I am happy that my PowerBook G4 is a stable, never having a problem, cinematic matte screen beauty. (still after 3 years).
It will take something more than a solid CNC aluminum uni-body to make me upgrade. (and they lost me with the gloss screen)!

What I don't understand is that Steve Jobs constantly talks about new technology with the statement of: "we went looking to do this, and realized we already had the technology in some other application." If that is the case, the technology already exists for a tablet (there is even a company that makes an authorized and endorsed tablet) (see: http://www.axiotron.com/index.php?id=modbook) Only caveat, it is not touch screen cept with a stylis.

Here is a mock up concept of what Apple might release: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/apple-ta...-tablet-contest-winner-and-gallery-326468.php

Apple releases this, ... and I am all over it!!

Just my two pennies. (that are worth nothing these days!)
