Ditto,
Thanks a lot all, this has been wonderful! It always amazes me just how much I learn from seeing photos like these.
The one gray truck, with the camel and the nomad leading it, wow what a paint job!
Any thoughts, Christian, on how he attached his BMW F650GS to that truck? I could not see the mount, but in the current set up it sure looked low.
Thanks again!
Anybody have any information about the shelter that is off the back of this FWC?
It was photographed at the Abenteuer and AllRad show in Germany.
Any info or leads would be helpful. Thanks.
That shelter in the back of the Landrover is an S-250, likely US surplus from a base in Germanny. You see them often on the Government Liquidation site in the US - there are a bunch being fitted out just down the flightline from us in McClellan CA... Can sometimes also find on Steelsoldiers.com
There are several other versions as well, S280, LMS etc. these shelters are tough, empty weight is between 500-800 lbs depending on the type. Construction is double wall aluminum skin with two types of core, some have a foam core and vertical beams others are honeycomb core either paper or honeycomb.
If you pick one up and need some help with tech questions let me know....I oversee building these for a living
cheers
