Sorry for the late story but at least I am finally getting around to getting it done. As many can remember, this year's Expo was a bit of a wet, cold experience. My son and I had made plans to spend two days riding back country from Kingman to Mormon Lake. Sam had the route mapped out with very little pavement involved. My concerns grew as the weather continued to worsen on the days prior to the Expo. You see my skill level is sup-par and I was not sure how I would do on the muddy trails, so I bagged that idea and Sam and I went for a local ride instead and then drove to the Expo on Saturday.
We had a route that we have been wanting to explore here locally so we opted for that trip as a consolation prize. This trip took us around the north end of the Hualapai Mountains, across the Big Sandy and into the Aquarius Mountains. The best part was that it was a loop of 115 miles with less than 10 miles of pavement and this was counted from my driveway.
Most of the route was pretty easy road with a lot of very scenic views but I am finding it more difficult to stop when on the bike than when I am four wheeling. I promise that I will get better.
Some of the local wild life greeting us along the way.
Kingman certainly doesn't offer a lot of cultural activities but for someone who likes to get out in the back country, there are no better places. Certainly many other locations offer as much but I find myself lucky to be here.
