OK folks,

Had heard about the upcoming change to the question pool in July, so finally decided to get about taking the test.

Came across this site awhile back and finally gave it a good read for ham information.

So, I am taking the test TOMORROW! :wings:

Just wanted to say thanks to all the GREAT info, the easy read thru the stickies, and the answers to all the newbie threads that I read.

Talked a few friends in taking it with me, so wish us luck.

I will get back with you with the results, and will certainly investigate the info here for a dual band rig for the jeep.

Congrats. When I passed I had no idea what I just did. I knew it was cool but until you get and use a radio, it's all academic. HAM stuff is fun and the greatest thing about the hobby is it can be as little or as much as you want it to be. I am happy with a few QSOs while mostly listening to old friends talk. I also like monitoring rail freqs and junk like that. Fun stuff.

Hey this is CageKicker, I am one of the people who took the Tech Test with Sewerdigger. We just got our call signs from the FCC:
Sewerdigger- KJ6FAD
CageKicker- KJ6FAI
Jeri (aka. THE BOSS) - KJ6FAH

I have a Kenwood TM-741A, gifted to us by a local Elmer, to install. Still reading the ARRL Antenna Handbook to figure the best practical antenna set up for the rigs. Figured I'd learn the science before I started drilling.

The site has been an excellent source of information, I will visit often.

Thank you everyone:victory:
