Slowly but surely 4x4wire.com is coming back on line. One point moving forward, I have taken steps to block IP addresses origination from Russia, China, Japan and India.
The server loads are linked to very heavy traffic from IPs origination in those countries. The traffic was direct brute force attacks on the site and, more telling, heavy bot traffic from the three countries was indexing every file accessible on the site. Together, the traffic overloaded the server capability.
Compounding the problem was an on-going effort to update the system and being unable to activate new configurations without encountering problems.
As it sits, the portal at
http://www.4x4wire.com/ is on-line sporting a new look.
The TrailTalk forums are on-line.
MUIRNet.net has passed its test phase and will be active within 24 hours.
4x4Voice.com section is currently being updated.
OutdoorWire.com overview index will be updated when all other updates are complete.
There is extensive legacy content that, while still on-line, may experience access and/or display issues. Those are being corrected and will take time to fix. The legacy content has many links throughout the internet and I am trying to preserve those links.
