I'm not sure why you'd want to climb in and out via the Gobi ladders. They get the job done for getting up and down from the rack, but just barely. I couldn't imagine traversing a JK Gobi ladder as my first semi-upright action in the morning or in the middle of the night to pee. If you end up going this route, I would wrap grip/tread tape around the rungs and put a piece on the base of the Gobi ladders to keep your feet from slipping when they are wet from rain or dew.
