It would apear from the controls that both drives can be operated independant which depending on how you manipulate each one forward or backward i conjuntion witht he other would allow you to move sideways as well as forwards backwards and pivot.

Funny how we have gotten used to typical wheel/tracks so anything else is odd.
I would have to say that since it appears to be an older video and we have not seen that design in use there must be a problem.
Great find and something to think about.
