Those question for those with GMT800 trucks / autoride

Should I use the autoride bypass resistors or is it better to have the code's removed from the BCM? If I go with the resistors, can I just use them on the front for now if I only plan on replacing those shocks right now? I talked to the dealer, and they said they have to re-flash the entire computer to remove the autoride codes. They also said I need to find a VIN of the exact truck without the autoride. I don't think you could buy a K2500 Suburban in the LT package w/o autoride.

There is a workaround to this. Pull the negative battery cable and then pull the under hood fuse labeled 'RTD' (30amp). You must pull the battery cable first or it won't work. Supposedly this fuse also controls the speed sensitive steering but most trucks shouldn't have this. I have heard of other people doing this on 1/2 tons and 3/4 tons but I have not tried it on my 8.1L Yukon XL yet.

OMG! OMG! OMFG!!!! It works! It works! :jump::jump::jump: I have been searching for three years for this fix! I have the resistors but I still got the light. Every single time I left the driveway. Until 20 min ago!!!!! I left the driveway and just drove... It never came on.

Thank you kind sir! This was for 2001 Chevy Suburban 2500.

Something that worked for me, Ive got an 01 8.1L 4X4. Got it off dieselplace where the duraburbs are being done. ANyhow on passenger side behind the back panel is the SCM. Disconnect your battery and then go to the SCM and disconnect the Pink plug(I believe this is the one that runs to BCM it has been quite a few months). Let it sit overnight with battery disconnected then just hook battery back up in the morning. After that unplug the connectors from the tops of the shocks and no CEL on dash;)
