There i was, websurfing and daydreaming ...

What could i do on a short weekend AND be back to celebrate fathers day with my family.

Then it hit me, could i do 3 unvisited confluences in Sinaloa in 24 hours?, I quickly check on trusty google earth and a few phone calls later i had a team of buddys.

The problem is that my Toyo is missing axle gears and my cherokee havent been out of town since i bought it 3 weeks ago, in the best Mexican fashion we decided to take it anyway (No spare, no problemo !!!).

Off we went on friday afternoon with the plan to visit a confluence that afternoon, find a place to sleep by the beach, visit two confluences on saturday and go back to Los Mochis some 1,200 kms later.

On La Costera Road, happy and singing along ...

After finding the right dirt road we went to the west.

One hour later, we had it, the first one.

It was a nice place close by the sea.

We did reach something resembling a campground somewhere around 11.00 pm, try to stay alive on a HOT, mosquito infested night, and off we went at sunrise.

The tropical, beer happy lands near Mazatlan, Sinaloa.

Congratulations! and since you live in a great area, could you share some information of places that are a must to explore in or around the Mazatlan area, I will be driving into Mazatlan from the Durango hwy, with a stop in Mazatlan to Puerto Vallarta, followed by Colima.

Suggestions?

thank you for sharing!

Just tell me how many days are you staying and when, iĺl ask a couple of friends to put together a nice route for you (Anything from floral to mild to extreme).

We did a Durango to Mazatlan offroad route a couple of years ago, but its a 35"+ and two lockers kind of thing!.

Then there is a nice route using the river from the coast all the way up to a new dam they are making, there are some deep crossings but all have Chicken routes.

You name it ...

Saludos
