Considering a Thule Trail XT M for my 2020 Mazda CX-5 GTR.
I'm sensitive to raising the cars COG , but I wouldn't use it for much more than a 4gal Rotopax and Maxtrax, maybe camp chairs, rifle case, etc.
Anyone own or have any experience with the model?
I'm concerned about the MPG hit. Averaging 22mpg, I've a range of 330mi. Would somewhat defeat the purpose of carrying the Rotopax (88mi extending) if the hit was greater than 25%.
I read different things, but it seems boxes are more aerodynamic than baskets and they might suffer up to near 20% hits?
Also any top speed constraint? I read somewhere one is limited to 80mph if fully loaded - can I assume if 1/3 loaded (and low-profile) I'd be OK above that? I live in Texas...
Thanks.
