Thuren rear track bar and spare tire clearance for 4.5th generation Ram 2500s?

Hey there…I have a ‘21 Ram Tradesman PW that I SWORE I’d leave alone. But my willpower is weak.

One of the very few drawbacks with the 4.5-gen Ram 2500 platform is how much the rear can “wag” over highway expansion strips at speed. It’s pretty well-understood that this is attributed to the track bar design, and companies like Thuren have come out with some great fixes.

HOWEVER, clearances are pretty darn tight for spare tires, especially oversized ones, on these rigs. Has anyone had problems getting their 35”-ish spare mounted underneath with the Thuren bar?

Thanks,

Jason

I helped my buddy put one on and he has a Nitto ridge grappler 35x12.5-17 and it fit and no clearance issue at all he said it helped a lot. it is a nice looking piece of iron. Down load the install instructions. It was a pain in the patoosa drilling through the OEM mount as you are doing it blind. I have been wanting to install one but waiting for a scratch and dent LOL. Thuren told me to call and sometimes they have one but so far no luck.

Thanks for the reply. I can get one just a bit below the advertised cost from CJC Offroad (they felt bad because one of their fog light kits included the wrong hardware), but with only 16k on the truck, I'm still a bit leery of giving Ram a reason to mess with the warranty in the event of an unrelated problem!

unless it was related to the track bar which I don't see how it could be as nothing the track bar could really cause damage to, the average ram tech will not even notice it. I like CjC I have the intercooler skid on my PW simply because it kind of protects the winch line from road crap and looks way better than the plastic air dam. My buddy said the track bar really helped he was carrying a xxl james baroud RTT on top of his RSI camper so had a lot of weight up high. I have never had an issue with the wag over expansion joints etc. I just think they would help offroad keeping your rear axle centered better. they are beefy. Not a necessity for me but would be nice just the same.
