Well Its time, yes I know I just "finished" the yoda. (I still have for now a sale pending to a fella in wyo) But I miss my full size trucks.
So I found this one, I call it grandpas truck...baby blue standard cab no frills 1500 WT series truck. 4.3 v6 auto and AC thats it. with the WT truck comes with a 35 gallon tank, no need for duals or aux tanks there! When I first got it last week had a set of well worn 205 70 r 16's and sat so low, all I could remeber was my Gpa trucks as a kid, thats the one so picked it up. and cheep!
Had a small over heating problem a few days after purchase needed a new fan clutch, everything else has been meticulouly maintained on it. and got the recipts and maintenance history with it.
Well so far..Just replaced the tires went with OEM sized at 245 75 r 16 E range Klever Mt's, There an odd ball brand from cooper tires. Seem to use the same side wall as the coopers on my 'Burb. and two weeks and half later and 3200 miles wearing very well. I want to keep my fuel milage with this one so far Im averaging about 21-23 hwy with it. So not planning on much bigger, plus Im a tall skinny tire guy for the snow and ice roads, and gumbo two track trails...
Next on the list:
Warn classic winch bumper, less the brush guard (Ill weld that up myseld)
Warn or Ramsey 8-9500 pound winch
Dual battery trays from a deisel truck, just bolt in no mods required
Now either a hard shell topper or Ive also been looking at the newer line of CAN BACK soft side toppers. They look pretty snazzy with thier matching roof rack ect...And they have the plus side being able to roll the side up outta the way for carrying odd sized gear and of course the "stuff" from the misses haha. Either way just to sleep inside when its montana cold out.
All new com gear as mine is getting pretty antiquadated.
This will pretty much round out my build. Of course little things that come up as well.
As soon as can find my camera Ill throw up a pic or two....
