Time to get nuts with the FJ Cruiser! lets build! (WTD)

SWITAWI

Doesn't Get Out Enough
...I think it is time for me to weigh in as the owner of this "cute smurf" as mr4x4 put it :)...

...I was one of the people who were extremely bummed out about the inner fender rail cracks (happened at 3500miles!!!!). I was very frustrated with Toyota Corporate about how they handled the case - basically leaving you stranded. As the cracks kept growing to a point where everything just keep rattling and falling apart...

Cheers,
Gerhard

Holy crap, Gerhard! 3500 miles? Yikes. I consider myself very fortunate that my '08 doesn't have the cracks, but then it hasn't been wheeled near as much as commuted in.

If you don't mind I'll link this thread to https://www.facebook.com/Toyota-FJ-...lem-Deserves-A-Real-Solution-117966271607395/ to give some others something to drool over.

Ok so wow! You are gonna have a bad *** rig when they are done, so that means lots of action pictures!

Toyota FJ Cruiser cage build.

We had to pause on the Fj build to continue our build on our Sema van build. A pretty crazy build of a 2016 Chevrolet #500 express van with the Quigley 4x4 conversion.

A few more updates of pics... the front motor cage is near completion, of course lots of minor details to be completed.
Action shot!.

a couple more tubes for the rear seat frames.

Of course we had to sign the cage with our badge.....

We are going to cut off the front crossmember because its ugly and weak. Time to add some spice..... Hope you like it G...

Pardon my ignorance, but will this be a street legal rig upon completion? Just wondering if it will still be doing travel trailer hauling duty as well.

Yes, it will still be street legal. And we will be towing out trailer with it. But the towing is one of the head aches for the next project phase - the rear suspension upgrade...
